More About Embossing Machines & Tapes
An embossing machine punches raised letters into plastic tape to make a label — no ink, no batteries, no app. Oddpod carries two manual embossing machines (Motex and Oddpod's own B90) plus five embossing tape sets in different colourways, every one compatible with standard embossing machines.
What is an embossing machine?
An embossing machine is a hand-operated label maker. You dial letters, numbers or punctuation on a wheel, squeeze the handle, and it presses raised characters into a roll of plastic tape, then cuts it to length. There's no ink, toner, batteries or app involved — just mechanical pressure on the tape itself, which is why these machines still work years after purchase with no electronics to fail.

How to choose the right embossing machine
- Want a well-reviewed, proven machine? The Motex has 34 reviews averaging 4.56 stars, and comes in three colours — Blue, Green or Pink.
- Want more characters and automatic label forwarding, for less? The Oddpod B90 packs 47 characters with auto-forwarding between presses, at ₹899 — ₹100 less than the Motex, though it's newer with fewer reviews so far.
- Already own an embossing machine? All five tape sets sold here are the standard 9mm width, so they'll fit most embossing machines on the market, not only the Motex or Oddpod.
- Want assorted colours or one colour in bulk? The Fluoro, Metallic, Essentials and Pastel combos each mix five different colours in one set; the Single Color Set gives you 5 rolls of the same colour if you want a consistent look across your labelling.
Embossing machine & tape FAQs
Do the tapes only fit the Motex or Oddpod machines? No — all five tape sets are 9mm wide, the standard size used by most embossing machines, so they'll work with embossing machines you already own too.
Do these embossing machines need batteries or ink? No. Both the Motex and the Oddpod B90 are fully mechanical — squeeze the handle and it presses raised letters into the tape. No batteries, ink, toner or charging required.
How many tape rolls come in a set? Each set — Fluoro, Metallic, Essentials, Pastel or Single Color — includes 5 rolls at 9mm x 3m per roll.
What colours are in each combo? Fluoro Combo: green, pink, yellow, orange and mint. Metallic Combo: 2 black, 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 transparent. Essentials Combo: black, blue, red, green and yellow. Pastel Combo: green, pink, violet, orange and mint. The Single Color Set is sold as 5 rolls of one colour — pick red, yellow, green, black or blue.
Does the machine come with tape included? Yes — both the Motex and Oddpod machines ship with 1 tape roll included, so you can start labelling right away. Extra tape sets are sold separately.
