What is a label maker?

A label maker (or label printer) prints text, barcodes or images onto adhesive labels using either a mechanical embossing/ink mechanism or app-controlled thermal printing. Thermal label makers need no ink or toner — the print head heats the label paper directly — while mechanical models like the Motex punch or print labels by hand, with no batteries or software involved.
